Loverdose Tattoo

Perfume is not normally something I buy for myself, I prefer to ask for perfume at Christmas and on my birthday but when I came across this perfume while reading a magazine something just drew me towards it! Admittedly the one thing that caught my attention was the fact it was called tattoo, pathetic I know but hey it looked cool and to top it off it smelt so nice. The very next day I went to the perfume shop to buy my very own bottle.

First off lets start with how cool the bottle is, I love the diamond cut heart shaped bottle apparently symbolising a 'powerful weapon of seduction'. This is my first Diesel perfume and I'm really impressed, I'm not very good with describing perfume scents as you may already know but if you like slightly sweet smelling perfumes this one is for you. This oriental scented perfume with hints of jasmine and vanilla is perfectly warm scented for winter. Get it here.

Have you found your favourite perfume for winter yet?

So you guys probably don't know but I'm a sucker for a good kabuki brush! I've had my eye on sigma brushes for so so long but the price would always put me off as I thought I could be spending my money on something more worth while. However one day I came across a UK website that sold Sigma brushes and I just knew I had to order one straight away! The delivery was so fast and I received my brush within two days.

The brush I chose to order first was the flat kabuki brush F80, this brush has synthetic bristles to avoid absorption of product which prevents wasting your foundation. The brush is so soft and I love the design, after using this brush a few times I can honestly say the application is great. I use this with my mac fix fluid and I find it gives such an even flawless finish. You definitely get a well blended look with this brush and I think at £16.50 its worth every penny. The next sigma brush I have my eye on is the large angled contour brush.
Brush available here

Have you tried any sigma brushes?

The Worst

Image from google
I don't need you, I don't need you, I don't need you but I want you,
I don't mean to, I don't mean to, I don't mean to but I love you...
Surprisingly this is my first post on music which is strange because music is everything to me, be it when I'm feeling happy or sad music is my escape and something I just couldn't live without! So I thought I would share with you guys an album/song that I'm just in love with at the moment. Jhene Aiko - Sail out.
Some of you may or may not have heard of her as I only recently started listening to her music but she's been around for a good while. Being described as the female Drake I think her voice and song writing is amazing. You almost feel as though she's singing her diary to you, everything is so real.
One song I love in particular is 'The Worst' it's about loving and wanting someone you know you shouldn't but you just can't stay away, I think everyone can relate with that one. So if there's one thing you do check her out because she is one talented lady! Oh, and her album is only £2.99 on iTunes amazing.

Raising Awareness, FGM

 photo 19daa530-3ef1-4a49-b5f6-3e8f161529d7_zpsd91403c7.jpg
Image from the FGM European Campaign
This isn't my usual post but something that has shocked me this week. After watching a programme by Leyla Hussein I was sickened to see what is happening to young girls. Female Genital Mutilation (also known as female circumcision), 66,000 women in the UK have undergone FGM. This is done to ensure the girls remain 'pure' with most families organising for them to have FGM done. European countries such as France have measures in place to crack down on FGM. I was disgusted to see that a lot of people just see FGM as a cultural thing and really feel Britons attitude toward this needs to change.

As a young girl myself FGM was something I didn't really know about or understand but now entering the nursing profession I see FGM as a safeguarding issue and something people should be taught. So as soon as I found out Leyla was running a petition I knew instantly I had to sign it. If the petition gets 100,000 signatures the issue of FGM will be brought into the house of commons. I really hope this issue is reviewed and tackled young girls shouldn't have to go through this.

Did you see the programme?

Finally, H&M Boots

Lets just take a moment to admire these beauties...

I've been after these boots since they came out in H&M earlier this year but never got the chance, so when I saw that they were back in stock I just had to get hem because I know If didn't I would have regretted it. So here they are! I love H&M because they do size 6 1/2 which is my actually size so these boots fit me perfectly. They are slightly on the high side but the chunky heal makes them relatively easy to walk in. They were 29.99 and for boots like these I think its a bargain I've had my eye on Vagabonds for a while but this is a much cheaper option. Unfortunately they are no longer online but I've seen them in certain stores so be quick!

Have you got your winter boots yet?

The Top 3: Skincare Wishlist

The Top 3: Skincare Wishlist

Every now and again I like to show you guys a few skin products I'm hoping to get my hands on. But of course being a student and having a serious expensive skin care and make up habit I never actually have any money, whoops. So here's what I hope to get in the near future.

First up is the Kiehls Dark spot solution, me being an acne sufferer after fighting to get rid of the spots I then have to tackle the scars I'm left with. This product is aimed at improving discolouration and to improve the clarity of your skin. I've read some good and some not so good reveiws on this product but where acne is concerned I think it's a winner so this is definitely on the top of my list.

Next up moisturiser, this is one area I find difficult with having oily skin for years I have thought steering away from moisturiser is a way to improve my skin. However this is wrong, so so wrong, dehydrated oily skin is even worse so although you may not think it it is important to keep oily skin hydrated. The difficulty I find is finding a moisturiser that is targeted at oily acne prone skin. One skin care brand I've been interested in lately is Clinique. It's a counter I normally just walk past and have taken no interest in. However this specific product the Acne solution clearing moisturiser contains benzoyl peroxide which is used to treat acne. When I went to the dermatologist a few years back he prescribed a cream which also contains this ingredient and it really helped to clear up my skin. I'm very interested in trying this out as it is also aimed at controlling oil.

Ren invisible pores, can I just say I love this skin care brand I have been using their products for the past few months and I have not been disappointed. This face mask is aimed at combination to oily skin and it's goal is to make your pores less visible as well as getting rid of excess sebum. I have large pores on my cheek near to my nose and I hate them. I've read some good reveiws on this product so I can't wait to try it myself.

Are there any skin care products you've been lusting after recently?

Iglot Freedom System

Colours 21 - 37 - 409

Recently I took a trip to shepards bush westfields, as I came down the escalator and saw Iglot I just knew it had to finally purchase my first palette. If you haven't been to Iglot before here's how it works, you can choose any size palette and pick which colour eyeshadows you wish to put in your palette from a wide range of shades.

For someone like me this is heaven, even though when it comes to making decisions and choosing I am the worst person this was quite easy. I picked three similar (but also very different) shades that I knew I would be able to wear either by themselves or adding other colours with it. These shades are so subtle so are perfect for the day time but could also be built up for a night time look.

When it comes to eyeshadow colours the ones I purchased are the typical kind of colours I like to wear as I feel they suit my skin tone well. The textures of these eyeshadows are soft and they apply nicely to the lid. For £4.50 each I think it's a bargain. The pallet itself cost £5 and you can get pallets that fit up to 10 eyeshadows.

Another trip to Iglot is definitely on the cards.
