Book Review: The Storyteller

"Whether it's was power they sought, or revenge, or love - well those were all just different forms of hunger. The bigger the hole inside you, the more desperate you become to fill it"

If someone would have said to me I would read a book based on the holocaust I would have probably laughed in their face. History is not something I usually opt to read into, I'm more into crime books and the odd 50 shades. But this book has definitely surprised me, its based on a new found friendship with a young girl and an older man. I don't want to spoil it by giving away the storyline but the young girl is faced with a tough decision and as the story unravels their life's cross in unimaginable ways.

With such a sensitive issue this book is written beautifully and really opens your eyes and makes you think of what people are actually capable of. The Holocaust is something everybody is aware of but the sad thing is cases like this are still going on in other parts of the world. I know, I know a bit of a heavy subject but definitely a book to add to your holiday reading list! I look forward to reading another one of Jodi Picoult's books soon.
