Anastasia Beverly Hills

When it comes to eyes and eyebrows there's one woman that just gets it right every time, good ol' Anastasia. And when I unwrapped these presents on my birthday I was so happy! First off we have the Catwalk eyeshadow palette, I have seen so many pictures with people wearing eyeshadow from this palette and it just looks lovely. The colours are so nice with a mixture of matte and shimmer eyeshadows the colours included can create so many different looks.
Now I must be honest I've never really loved eyeshadow as I've always thought I look like a little girl trying to look grown up when I wear it. However it's growing on me and I'm beginning to be more experimental with my makeup. So I really look forward to wearing this and seeing what looks I can create.
Now onto the brows... A while back I ordered the brow whiz pencil and instantly fell in love and haven't looked back since, although pricey I think it's worth every penny. So when I discovered she also did a clear brow gel I just had to check it out. I know I know, slightly unnecessary as you can just use clear mascara but ill make sure I only use it on special occasions so it lasts!
I really can't wait to start using these products, Anastasia now has another palette out called the lavish pallette and it looks just as good so check it out all of her products are available on cult beauty.

Laura Mercier - Oil free primer

And the search continues... I was lucky enough to get John Lewis vouchers for my birthday so of course I had to go to the beauty section and treat myself! As you may or may not know I am always on the search for a primer that keeps me shine free or at least keeps me shine free for longer than normal. So I decided to give Laura Mercier a try for the first time.
This oil free primer was created for people with problem, acne prone skin. Perfect, this primer has ingredients to help keep your skin oil free and to give your make up the staying power it needs.
My verdict? Bravo Laura I'm impressed! When I apply this primer it goes on lightly and smooth without feeling like you have caked anything on to your face. It feels cooling on the skin and crates a nice smooth layer for your makeup. Now the real question, does it keep me shine free? Well yes it does, I've noticed I am not touching up as often as I used to and my makeup pretty much stays put! Would I repurchase? Yes yes yes.

The Big 2-1

The time has come and I've reached another special birthday, oh how time flys! This has by far been one of the best birthdays I've had so far and I really wanted to share it with you guys. The past 21 years have definitely been challenging and I'm still standing!
I'm so grateful for the people I have in my life right now and although I've lost a few 'friends' along the way I believe everything happens for a reason and who needs to be in your life will stay there.
After spending the morning not really doing much apart from getting my hair done I then travelled back home to my parents. As I walked through to the kitchen I was greeted by the cutest thing...
My parents had turned our kitchen into my own little area! I have to be honest I wasn't very excited about my birthday but after walking into the kitchen it really put a smile on my face. My amazing step dad also made me this pretty cake and everything was pink and girly... My parents know me so well!
My parents took me out for a lovely Thai meal which included a lot of cocktail drinking (mai tai is my new fave) and it was lovely just to chat, eat and drink with good company.
Once I arrived home my stepdad told me to open the front door and as I walked through to the kitchen of course another surprise my parents had invited round my family for a surprise get together! I was sooo embarrassed but it was lovely to see everyone and celebrate my birthday with people who helped make it so special.
Now I've left the best till last ... Prezzies!
I really did have an amazing birthday, I'm so grateful for all the presents I received and everyone made me feel so special. To top it off I went to the theatre the next day to watch The Bodyguard which was amazing.
There's just one last present I want to share with you, and it's my bag of happiness I received from my best friend. Each item inside has its own special meaning...
A plaster to heal you when you get hurt
A love heart so you know someone loves you
String to hold it together in tough times
A pebble so you always remain grounded
A Rubber to erase the little mistakes you make
A diamond to bring a sparkle to your eye
A marble for when you start losing yours
A lucky bean so you always have luck on your side
A coin so you are never completely broke
A star to wish all your wishes upon
A paper clip so you are always organised, and
A kiss for when your feeling down

Life, Make it happen

This isn't my usual post on clothes or makeup but on something more personal to me. For as long as I can remember I have been very very shy around people I don't know and this has effected what I do and where I go. As I have gotten older this hasn't Improved and I have got to the point where if I can avoid a situation believe me I will.
However I feel it is time for change, I'm beginning to realise you can't live life in your comfort zone as it will get you nowhere. I have been told by my friends that many people think I'm rude because I'm very quiet when the reality is I'm just so shy. As hard as it may, be the truth is the best moments In your life are the ones where you were completely out of your comfort zone.
I'm glad to say, slowly but surely my new goal is coming into place. In secondary school I used to dance and perform in front of hundreds of people which to this day I cant believe I used to do. The other day I went to my first dance class after about 4/5years and I loved it. It made me realise how much I missed it and what a bore I had become. But most of all it made me want to pursue more and get involved and of course step out of my comfort zone.
What's next? I'm not sure skydive maybe? Okay, slightly far fetched but if your like me don't carry on living life in your own little bubble there's so much out there it's your life, MAKE IT HAPPEN.

My New Love

A liquid concealer with a matte finish? I'm there! After a good few weeks searching for my old concealer, (the studio finish concealer) In every mac store near me quite frankly I was getting very ticked off that none of them had it. So I had to give In and try a new one and this was recommended to me. I'm glad it was!
Ive always thought liquid concealers were for people with fairly good skin who were looking for that radiant glowing finish. However This concealer is a medium to buildable coverage which is perfect for me as I do tend to like a good coverage. This concealer is intended to last up to 15 hours and although I haven't paid much attention to how long it lasts I'm completely hooked on the natural matte finish after applying this concealer.
My old concealer is finally coming back into stock and although I will be purchasing it again I will be using these concealers alternatively as I love this new concealer almost as much as I love studio sculpt.
