Mini Lush Haul

 photo 14715991-b689-4592-ab5d-d01a54b3465e_zps99475a24.jpg

Let me just get my confession out of the way before I begin this post, this is only the second time I have brought any thing from lush. I know what is all that about?! But to be honest I used to just see lush as the super smelly shop with loads of perfumed products I couldn't use, due to my super sensitive skin I didn't want to risk it. However everything changed when I was dragged into lush one day by one of my friends and I found out everything was natural and handmade, I've been a lush convert ever since. Mt first purchase was around Christmas last year and it was the ever so famous Snow fairy shower gel, I was so upset when I finished it a couple of weeks ago.

To try and fill the gap that snow fairy has so sadly left I couldn't help but step into lush once again.. To be honest I walked in and felt completely lost there's just so much and I didn't have a clue where to start. A lovely shop assistant came over to give me some advice and guided me into the right direction, after about 20 minutes sniffing everything I settled with these three.

Honey Bee
I love honey so this bath bomb caught my eye, with honey, aloe vera, and rhassoul mud this bath bomb is perfect for soothing  and cleansing your skin. This is the first bath bomb I tried out and its sweet honey smell makes for a great bath.

Fluffy Egg
This bath bomb caught my eye purely due to its pink prettiness, then I had a good sniff and was sold. It smells exactly like my beloved snow fairy and I jus had to have it. Its a candy scented bath bomb made especially for Easter so enjoy it while you can!

You've been Mangoed
After explaining I suffer from dry skin I was directed to the bath melts and the lovely shop assistant demonstrated just how silky smooth these bath melts can leave your skin. the citrus scent is a perfect way to wake you up in the morning while the cocoa, avocado and mango butters leave your skin nice and soft. I was advised I can either use all in one go or cut it in half either way I cant wait to see how it benefits my skin.

What's your favourite lush product?

Song of the week - SZA

Image from google

And I can't recall the last time I took advice from anyone
I'm sure I'll be the death of me...

The other day I came across a new artist called SZA and was instantly taken by her voice and also the fact that she is gorgeous. After listening to her song Babylon I just had to listen to more, I'm forever looking for new artists so was quite intrigued. She's been compared to artists such as Eryka Badu and that for me just proves she is definitely one talented lady.

SZA has just recently been signed to Kendrick Lamar's label and is the first female to actually be on his label. Its quite refreshing to find a new artist with a different take on music its almost like she's telling a story through her lyrics and I love that.

My song of the week Babylon is definitely one to add to your playlist its off her upcoming EP 'Z'. I love the chilled out beat and her voice with such dulcet tones is something you really could listen to all day. She's definitely an artist I recommend checking out if your looking for anything new and slightly different. I've added her EP below for you guys to check out, her next EP 'Z 'is out later this year no doubt it will be just as good or even better than her last EP. She's definitely someone to look out for.

Any artists you've been loving recently?

Breakfast at bills And catch up

Oh boy its been a while again, (slaps wrist) my excuse this time? I finished placement and went straight back into uni and just haven't really had the time to just chill and write posts. So I thought I would blab about what exactly it is I've been doing over the past week or so...

Apart from avoiding the fact I have a dissertation to do (when anyone even mentions that word to me I turn into the hulk) I've just been getting used to not working shifts anymore and getting back into the routine of uni, I'm getting closer and closer to finishing and I'm seriously feeling mixed emotions relief, excitement, fear etc. It's almost time to be a proper adult and earn my own money, am I ready?! Anyway putting all of these rambling thoughts aside I have been up to a couple of things, first things first Bills restaurant...

Let me start off by saying its definitely the first time I've ever had to queue fir breakfast but since we had gone all the way to reading just for Bill's there was no way I was leaving! Seeing everyone else get their food was a nightmare because I kept chaning my mind on what I was going to order, everything just looked so nice. The décor was so lovely and bright I just had to take a picture, anyway we didn't have to wait long to get seated and it didn't take me long to choose what I was going to have as soon as I saw pancakes on the menu!

I decided to try something different spicy chai tea, when it comes to drinks and tea in particular I love to try new and different things and lets just say I am now a chai tea convert. Afterwards I was on the hunt in the supermarkets for my own box. The pancakes were blueberry pancakes with strawberries, bananas, blueberries and syrup on top, oh boy I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. They were seriously tasty and I cant wait to go back to bills and try their fry up. The price of everything was very reasonable and the service was good so if you haven't been this is yet another place I recommend.

Now I was very lucky to get tickets to see Queen B after the drop of her surprise album and then the news of her concert lead to a lot of begging to my parents for not only her album but tickets to see her. I was lucky enough to get both, after learning all the songs I was definitely ready to see Queen B in action. Now I haven't mentioned this before but I am one of Beyoncé's crazy fans the first time I saw her I cried and have been slightly obsessed with her since the Destiny's child days (that's a true fan that is).

I decided to take my mum with me as she loves Beyoncé too so I thought it would be lovely to drag her along too. As soon as we got there I pretty much ran to the merchandise section and I have to be honest I really just wanted to spend all my money. I eventually settled for a surfboard sweatshirt, you don't even want to know the ridiculous price but I just couldn't resist.

Although we were so bloody high I felt ill (I have a serious fear of heights) with a glass of wine in one had I was ready for the show! I think I screamed from the time she came out until the concert was over, my poor mother. The highlight of the concert had to be when Jay Z graced the stage for Drunk in love as I've always wanted to see him in concert so that was such a treat.

Now I don't have another placement until June so that gives me a bit of time to focus on my blog as well as hopefully trying out some other restaurants and updating you guys. This seems to be the new thing for me at the moment and I must say I'm enjoying it. Hopefully over the next few weeks I can finally do some long awaited outfit posts if this weather holds up that is, the sunshine has definitely disappeared again.

Have you been out to eat anywhere nice lately?

Weekend Update

Sorry this post is a bit late the week is almost over already but boy was I happy to see this weekend! I've been on night shifts at my placement since Tuesday night and I know its part of the job I just going to have to get used to but I cant help but dread them every single time! I mean staying up most of the night just isn't normal is it!? Anyway by Friday morning I was free and so so glad.

After three very tiring night shifts I felt it only right that I treat myself to a little rip to Westfield's spending money shouldn't be spending but I have to say it made me feel so much better. After spending three days of pretty much eating one meal a day I was very hungry. Then we came across The Gourmet Burger Kitchen, I've heard of this restaurant before but never really actually thought of going inside too be honest we only went inside because everywhere else was packed!

I was really impressed with all the choice on their menu, I decided to order the strawberry and elderflower fizz drink (free refills) and it was so refreshing made a nice difference. On the burger side of things one caught my eye instantly and I didn't even look at the other options, a bacon avocado burger literally all my favourite food in one I just couldn't resist.

The food was tasty and everybody that served us was lovely and friendly, if your a bit behind like me haven't tried this restaurant I really recommend it. The prices are so reasonable and its a nice meal out. I'm glad I got the chance to let my hair down and just have a day of shopping and eating good food. Life gets too much sometimes and its important to just do things you enjoy!

I don't know why I look so miserable... this must be my tired face

This week I've definitely been a bit of a Debbie downer, I think the cold weather and lack of sunshine is finally getting to me. I've been trying to be a bit more positive and look on the bright side of things, I was browsing Instagram the other day and I came across this quote and it really stuck with me. Although the weather is crap and its cold you really do just have to work with what you've got. We all think we have all the time in the world and the truth is we don't so I'm on a mission to start enjoying myself and be a happier person.

Are you missing the sunshine as much as I am?

Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm

Merumaya a brand Created by Meleka Battu, who is no stranger to the world of skincare working for well known brands such as Clinique and origins this is a lady who knows her stuff! Merumaya has been around for just over a year and was created for ladies seeking anti ageing and spot fighting skin care. Which is something you don't come across often and to top it off these products are purse friendly. Need I say more?

When I saw the melting cleansing balm in the range I couldn't help but be interested, with ingredients such as ingredients ReviElix for its firming anti ageing properties, Sucragel containing almond oil for soft skin and Mangosteen fruit extract for its anti oxidant production this really is an all in one product.

My Verdict?

With a face full of make up I was ready to give this product a try. This is the first cleansing balm I've tried so to put a cleanser straight on my face without removing a trace of makeup first felt slightly strange. I've always wanted to try the Emma Hardy cleansing balm but to be honest on my student budget I just cant bring myself to spend that sort of money so I was quite excited to try out my first cleansing balm.

I am so glad I did, when I first applied it to my face it felt like silk it was so soft, after massaging it into my skin for a few minutes I then applied some water and the cleansing balm turned into a milky texture. I then rinsed it off doubled cleansed and I was left with such silky smooth skin. I've been using this for a week now and I'm still impressed with the results it leaves your skin so soft and although it has a slight herbal scent it is so gentle on your skin. Now for my oily skin ladies like me a plus side of this cleanser is the fact it doesn't leave your skin feel greasy which is always a plus.

If your looking for a cleansing balm without the expensive price tag and still getting the results you need I really recommend this. For £14.50 if you don't add this to your beauty stash your definitely missing out. Get it here

Have you tried this cleanser?
